As someone called Admiral Lavinge said "Why'd you have to make everything so complicated".

In a feat of Orwelian Stupidity, %20, FadDeserter & Media Specialists have decided to bring to you, the home mp3 ethusiast, the joys of 2002.  (Important Note : If you don't like things played at the same time just stop reading now...i'm serious...just move on, life will continue with or without the knowledge of this nonsense, Special Note 2 : if you want to create the ChartSweep for 2002 then just pop down to SN2b later in this notification.)  In their never ending quest to bring noise to the mainstream, they have decided to play, 3 at a time, in alphabetical order, the ' " Hits " ', as decided by the Media Specialists, of the year 2002.  And they have politely divided the material into three categories (ummm triptics...) 01. Rock-CHR-Urban (anyone know what CHR is?) 02. Country and 03. Spanish.  But which hooks to choose, there were so many good songs this year, well your right and gosh darn it the Media Specialists have selected the cream of the crop, all 702 Rock-CHR-Urban Hit Hooks, all 136 Country Hit Hooks and all 114 Spanish Hit Hooks and we're serving them back to you, three at a time to speed things up in a solid block of Top 40 Hit Hooking Paradisasical Blissfully Obnoxious Continuous Noise Party Jammie Power Packing Power.

OK fine alot of these songs are the ones which will completely disappear in time, but who cares, relive them all again as if your hearing them for the first time, i'm fairly sure i hadn't heard 60% of these before starting this task...

To make this accomplishment seem more proper, all intro audio of artist and song specification has been left intact to further your comprehension of where the year has gone and by who's doing you can attribute your hate towards, as these ' " Hits " ' were forced into your life as you went about your daily routine in a corporately tainted public landscape.

Brutal, yes; annoying, yes; gluttonous, you betcha; !rr!747!n9, definitely.  But if you like half assed dumb ass backward bullshit like i do then get on board you've got 50+ minutes of hell to listen too.

(hey look they decided to password protect the folders...I can send you the mp3s if your interested. ~180 megs...)

The Story from another perspective....

Couple weeks ago, I was trolling with google for mp3's (search for "index parent mp3 "your desired music") and i can't remember what i was looking for, but i found this website which just had folders and folders of 10-30 small mp3s of popular songs.  after downloading a few i figured i'd check the file structure to see how deep this stuff went and i guess each of these folders was a cd that this company sends out or market tests by phone, or maybe they just play them to people's answering machines?, the mp3's do include, sometimes, artist and song title info read by some monotone announcer like those cheesy tv commercials "Hits of the 'Blank'".  well towards the top ALL the hooks were in one folder. all thousand+ of them, and in county, spanish and something called rock-CHR-urban, all for the year 2002 suppostedly, even though many of the songs were not (Beastie Boys 'So Wat Cha Want' for instance).  I guess this company "Media Specialists" does market research for the record industry; their website is completely sleazy.  (i love their bit about "getting by the Gatekeeper")  ok so after seeing all the hooks, i needed to have them (i'm a hopeless pack rat), so i spent a couple hours at work (luckily they had just given me notice so i didn't feel as bad about wasting time).  Thinking i'd create ChartSweep for 2002 i put all the hooks into Soundjam to see how much material i actually got, and it turned out to be an hour and a half!, the original ChartSweep which is 40 years of music is only 60 minutes, so what to do, these artist, let's be fair, need their air time so i figured i'd just play them 3 at a time (which is sorta the limit of audio recognization (their hooks, you should only need a second to remember them...right?...) and the number of tracks my audio program can handle.)  After a few crashes and a couple unspecified amounts of time, of converting and releveling the mp3s, i was finished, then i remembered that they had a sample marketing phone call on their site so i cut that up and there you go.  <- 2002 Review ->
